Aunt Lisa

This is Aunt Lisa on the left who is visiting from Germany. She flew in for the wedding tonight, one of the cousins is getting married. She is almost 90 years young and is more active than I am sometimes. In Germany, she walks EVERYWHERE, in heels to boot. She has never driven in her life. I guess that is a big plus--staying active!
Her favorite meal of all time is a Thanksgiving dinner. They do not have Thanksgiving in Germany, so every time she comes, I give her the whole nine yards. Turkey, gravy, stuffing, corn casserole, mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce......all the way to apple pie! So this Sunday, that is what's for dinner, Thanksgiving!!!!

  2. Wow she is amazing! Its funny sometimes I trip walking on the cobblestone roads in my clogs..but than everyone else walks gracefully by in their heels! Also hard to complain about being sore from biking to store etc.. when 90 year olds pass you by. Have a great turkey day do over!

  3. Ina, yes she does have a lot of nice bling! One of the sweetest ladies I know. Not looking forward to the clock change either. I'l try to save you some leftovers!
Frau, it's o.k. to complain about being sore, it's just part of life! I don't think the 90 year olds know any other way of life, than to walk. Ha!

    XOXO

  4. I am inspired by people like your aunt Lisa. I love that she traveled so far for a wedding, many stop traveling that type of distance when they reach a "certain" age.
Enjoy the wedding and the Thanksgving redux!

  7. Hi Ronda,

I'm so glad you stopped by my blog to say hi. Love the photo of your summer house location. Aren't family vacations the best? I always thought I'd like to be a baker but they get up too early. I am definitely a night owl. I work next door to a doggie day care. I really enjoy seeing what fluffy thing walks by every day. Hope to connect again.

  8. Ronda I am back... I was looking at all the nice comments and remembering a lovely lady from when I was 16 years old. She was very regal and would always come to the Jersey Shore from NYC. She would sit at the beach very elegantly and bring a washcloth, then stroll to the ocean edge and dip the cloth and pat it on her face. She had a following of me and my teenage girlfriends. We would sit with her and listen to her tell stories of how to dress, what kind of jewelry your husband should buy you, where to eat, etc. Just super great stories! We ate them up! Her husband would come to the shore on weekends and always bring her flowers. One day she came to our beach house with something wrapped in tissue for me. They were her pearl post earrings set in platinum. Still treasure them to this day. Just wanted to share. Hug your Aunt! xoxo
